On Wearing Stripes

So, I've never been too big on wearing stripes. I like stripes...on other people..just not on me.

Last month I met Laura from Stripedshirt.com at the Houston Blogger Symposium - she was a sponsor at the event. I was instantly impressed with her striped shirts; but what really impressed me was her story. Laura explained to me that she created Striped Shirts because she wanted a fashionable and easier way for women and children to support their favorite teams. Laura is a big sports fan! Now y'all know I love  my Texans football, but I had been having the worst time finding fan gear that didn't cost me an arm and a leg, that fit me well, and looked good too. Insert Striped Shirt.

I was really excited when Laura asked me if I'd be interested in reviewing her awesome shirts! I knew had to get the red & white shirts to support my hometown team! Y'all should have seen how excited I was when they came in the mail (and they arrived fast)!

I loved the matching packaging that my shirts came in. The envelope even had stripes on it and I felt like it was just that "extra touch" that made the whole order feel special. Is that silly or does packaging do that for y'all sometimes too?

I got a shirt for myself and a matching shirt for my mini me! Striped Shirt sell shirts in a variety of colors for women, children, and babies!

So here is what I loved about these shirts - the material is a high quality cotton jersey knit with 5% lycra for just a little bit of stretch. The shirt is thick and soft but not too heavy. I wore it outside all day Sunday in the 86+ degrees, sun beaming down on me with no shade weather and I was pretty comfortable! I also appreciated the length of the shirt itself as well as the length of the sleeves. Also, I was impressed with the neckline. It was more feminine than a regular 'ol t-shirt! My kiddo looked adorable in hers too, but of course I'm biased and I think she looks good in anything :) The best part? We were totally supporting our Houston Texans football team on Sunday! Even though we weren't at the game or cheering them on at home, I'd like to think we helped them to defeat those ravens! Okay, maybe I'm pushing it...

Oh, something else that is really cool? One of YOU lucky ducks are going to win your very own Striped Shirt! The winner will get to choose their color combination and size! Are you excited? You should be!!
