Five Question Friday

Helloooo Friday!! Girl, am I glad to see you!! It has just been one of those weeks around here. Hubs has had an awful week at work - he is stressed out, pissed off, and just down right grumpy. Please Lord, let next week be better!

This weekend we have plans to do a whole lot of staying at home! YAY! That's my favorite! Unfortunately, we've decided to paint the little man's room. Painting is not my favorite. When we moved into this house three years ago (wow - time flies!) the walls in his room were already this dark grungy green color. It's kind of awful, like wet grass. How lazy are we to have not changed it yet? Anyway, lets not focus on that! Little man's birthday is coming up and since he is getting to be a big boy (3!) we are going to redo his room. A fresh coat of paint, and lots of fun decor! Yay! I get to spend money and decorate! My poor husband...

Today I am linking up again with Mama M. for Five Question Friday. I really enjoy this link up because the questions are always a lot of fun. Let's do it!

1) Who wakes up with the kids in the mornings, you or the hubby?
Ha! Are you serious? Yea, that would be me 99.9999% of the time. To be fair the hubs has to get up at 6 a.m. and leave the house by 630 to be at work by 7. However, that has only been his schedule for a few months now. I've always been the one to get up with the kids the majority of the time, and I probably always will be the one. That's okay - rising early is my excuse to take the occasional afternoon nap on the weekends ;)

2) Do you watch the world series even if your team isn't on it?
I don't do baseball y'all. Like, at all. Now, if it's the superbowl and my team isn't playing? Yes, of course I still watch!

3) What is the best compliment that you have received?
The best compliment that I have ever received was from my parents. In the past 5 years, on more than one occasion and at separate times my parents have told me "I'm proud of you. You are a good mom." That just makes my heart swell with pride and joy. Even though I'm far from perfect, I am a good mom.

4) Do/Did you dress up to take your kid trick or treating?
I've never dressed up with my kids for Halloween. Not that I haven't wanted to - I have. It just hasn't happened yet!

5) Do you have a favorite bible verse and why?
While it isn't a bible verse - the Lord's prayer is my favorite. I went to a private school as a child and we had to memorize bible verses and recite them aloud from memory. The Lord's Prayer is the first one I remember learning and I've always held it close to my heart.

  1. Having your parents tell you that you're a good parent is the best feeling =)
We moved to our new house a few months ago. We have the paint to paint our master bedroom but we haven't done it yet. We also bought a king size bed. We still don't have the right size bedding for it lol. Have fun painting this weekend! I HATE to paint!

  2. I didn't dress up when the kids were younger, but I do now. Nothing fancy, but my little nephews get a kick out of it!

  5. I have a love/hate relationship with paint. haha! I have painted so many walls in my life that the last thing I want to do is paint another, like ever! I love it though because it's truly the easiest and probably cheapest way to give a room a fresh new look.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog. You should definitely give the old medicine cabinet a new jewelry cabinet fix up. I would love to see that.

    xoxo,

  8. What a great compliment from your parents! I forgot that my dad told me something like this a few weeks ago and it really made my day.

I'm totally spoiled - my husband gets up with our kids at least 1/2 the time. Mama needs her sleep around here or nobody is happy. ;)
