DIY Sugar Scrub

I wrote this post awhile back for mom it forward and I decided it was high time I brought it over here for you guys!

I'm a lady on a budget, so when I find a homemade fix for something I might normally have to pay big bucks for, I get really excited. I've been using this sugar scrub for several months now and I"m here to tell you that it feels and works just as well as any other big brand I've ever tried. If you are looking to exfoliate and soften your skin, then you should absolutely give this DIY sugar scrub a try.

Sugar, ball jars, and Dawn hand soap for sugar scrub

How to Make a Homemade Exfoliating Sugar Scrub

Ingredients:

  • Sugar
  • Liquid Hand Soap (I use and recommend Dawn Ultra with Olay Hand Renewal in Pomegranate)
  • A cute vessel to store your sugar scrub! I used little Ball jars that I purchased from my local super store. They were just under $4 for 4 of them.

Directions:

This project is so easy and it will only take you a few minutes to complete. First, you will fill your container 3/4 of the way with sugar.

Next, fill your jar with soap!

Once your jar is filled with soap, just give it a stir! I filled my jar about half way, stirred, then filled it the rest of the way just to be sure that I didn't add too much soap. You want the scrub to be a bit thick.

If you want to give this sugar scrub some extra moisturizing power, try adding some essential oils to it. You can usually find some in the health aisles of your local super store.

I plan on making a lot of sugar scrub to give as gifts this holiday season.
